MISSOURI BEAUTY BIG SPRINGS IN VAN BUREN MO

Gosh what a BEAUTIFUL place to visit .
The water was so blue and very cold. Just an amazing wonder here in Missouri. You can always find God’s Beauty here . Big Spring was one of Missouri’s first state parks. It was a state park from 1924 until 1969 when the people of Missouri donated it, along with Alley and Round Spring State Parks to the National Park Service to become a part of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways. A gift from Missouri to America.

The Big Spring area contains the Big Spring of course, but also a campground, a picnic area, a dining lodge, trails and housekeeping cabins. It is easily located four miles south of Van Buren at the end of State Route 103.

The Big Spring is sometimes called America’s biggest spring. In reality there are three contenders for that title: Big Spring, Idaho’s Snake River Spring Complex and Florida’s Silver Spring. Since the flow from springs varies with local rainfall, any of these three might be biggest on any given day depending on the weather in Missouri, Idaho and Florida! The truth is they are all about the same size.

In any case, at an average daily flow of 286 million gallons of water, Big Spring is an awesome sight and a geologic wonder. Underground passages carry water from as far as 45 miles away to emerge at the spring. Studies have shown that the water is carrying a load of dissolved limestone equivalent to 70 tons a day! This dissolved rock gives the spring its color and is also carving out a huge conduit underground. Should the spring ever go dry, a huge cave will be the result.

When Adult Children Won’t Talk to Their Parents

I so get this!!

Tina's Tidbits

Photo by T. GilbertsonThere’s an article about estrangement on my website that gets more feedback than any article I’ve written before or since.

In that article, I offer strategies for the person who’s been cut off by someone and wants to get back together. The gist of it is this: Like it or not, whether you agree with them or not, the “cutter-offer” perceives a reason for cutting you off.  If you want to reunite, it’s up to you to make amends rather than expecting them to see the error of their ways. In short, I recommend openness and humility.

By far the people I hear from most about that article are parents of adult children who want nothing more to do with them. Some rejected parents don’t approve of the advice provided in the article, feeling that it puts too much responsibility on them.

Their feedback sounds like this:

“My child…

Macro Flower Photography and Meanings

Sweet Williams flowers are at the center of many romantic legends. One such legend is steeped in the poetry of the English writer John Gay, who wrote, Sweet Williams Farewell to black-eyed Susan: A Ballad. In this piece of poetry, both the sweet William and the black-eyed Susan were depicted as real people sweet William as a sailor, and the black-eyed Susan as his beloved, who must part from him. The story tells of the two meeting, then having to separate again sweet William assuring his love and fidelity all the while. Aside from having some artistic acclaim, sweet Williams flowers are also thought to be very useful in the culinary arts. These blossoms, which have a mild, clove-like taste, are mostly used as garnishes for cakes, pastries and drinks; however, they are also known to add a unique dash of flavor to salads, floral liquors, jellies and butters, as well as herbal tea.

wild flower name-

Dahlia’s are spicy flowers, and their meanings range from a sign of warning, to change, to travel, to even a portent of betrayal. The varied symbolic meanings of the dahlia make this flower a wild card. Give to that unique, eclectic person whom you wish to compliment his/her wild side. Combine them with slender flowers like irises or tulips for a striking visual display as well as a combined symbolic message that says “temper your adventures with a kind heart.”

Origninal Dahlia Name-

This is a capture of rain drops reflections on The Bachelor Button Flower. There is no secret there and it has nothing to do with processing either. Each droplet reflects its surroundings, so in each of them you can find many different reflections by simply changing the angle you look at it.A water drop is a spherical mirror which shows the reflective image inverted compared to the object (in this case).
To capture reflections in a raindrop you have to look for it unless you have serious knowledge of geometric optics.

If you don’t know the Bachelor Button by this name, you aren’t the only one. Probably, you know it by one of these names: Basketflower, Bluebottle, Hurtsickle, and Cornflower. Sometimes, this flower is known as the Boutonniere flower. But, all of these names will connect you to the same flower, which is the Bachelor Button. There is a story behind this flower, of course with a name like that. You will see that bachelors wore this flower if they liked someone and wanted to date them. The longer the flower stayed alive and the longer they wore it, it showed how strong their feelings were for that person.

Babies grow up fast. One minute, they’re tiny, wrinkly faced newborns emitting the littlest of cries while helpless in their bassinets. The next, they’re chubby-cheeked, toothy almost-toddlers, ready for adventure, whether mommy and daddy can keep up or not! That is why they are so DARN CUTE ! New parents so proud!
